I enjoyed your excellent comment about civility. In a recent entry on his blog, Brian Leiter said that "rightwing liars" and "creationist conmen" should not be treated with civility. I recently posted on the Pepsico exec's speech and the Newsweek Japan cover story merely to emphasize that I how the knowledge that one's audience is now world-wide might lead to more civility in public discourse. A local lefty-blogger hectored me in the comments and ended up posting on his site that I was calling for "right-wing political correctness." And so it goes.
