You're the man, Joe!

There is a lot to be said, but I've got to get on to other things.

Related to this widespread media cover-up of the race of criminals when the latter are black is the more recent, but growing phenomenon of police departments registering persons arrested for crimes as "white" when they are, in fact, "black." On this, see, for example: https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1767589122271539535
Here, a means exists to alter the statistics on major crime by race, which, as you know are disproportionately committed by black males.

Can this really be happening, Vito?

It appears the link may have been missing in my previous post.

Here it is again, just in case.

From what I found in one local NJ report, it appears that the four cases cited int the Libs of Tic Toc post are real. I saw several other examples of this in the last few months, but I can't remember where. Perhaps the phrase "growing phenomenon" overstates the situation, but I can't help but feel that if some of these cases are visible, others exist that are not. In any case, if the Left finds this a useful weapon, it will use it.

Thanks for the VDARE article, Malcolm. Nobody wants to talk about race, and for obvious reasons.

When I was on Facebook I asked those who had taught college classes to rank their students in terms of ethnicity/race. No one would touch the question.

The "cybernauts" neologism catches my attention this morning. And I'm going to exploit this combox to flesh it out. I haven't seen the video in question, just some stills. Videos of other acts of violence and mayhem are abundant anymore. I don't seek them out, but occasionally one has to see to believe, so I've seen some. I confess I inwardly cheer at the infrequent random one where the deserving perpetrator gets a beat down at the hands of a vigilante crowd. Crime will be reduced when crimes are legalized. The rule of law is a victim of regulatory capture. Law alone was never going to get us there, rather just to the threshold, but it beats libido dominandi in a fair fight.
Reports arrive daily to confirm that the world is indeed spinning out of control.
Spending time at the keyboard or touch screen is fraught with known and unknown hazards, whether it be proximity to 5G EMR bombardment, exposure to unbidden violence or porn, other mindfuckery, or just plain wasting of what could be time better spent. Nevertheless, there is value too in keeping informed and fluent in media-savvy situational awareness that we have come to depend on for various reasons.
Here's the nut of my comment: As the ersatz cadre of samizdat netizens (cybernauts) continues to coalesce, where and what are the better sources for actionable or need-to-know intel? Intel that is distributed and distributable, multiplatform. X of course is popular, but I don't X. And it's like drinking from a firehose. Let me tell how I try, and by the way, I am a complete amateur and hapless epigone about such. I don't have hours daily to search out and refine such a list (mine is very short). It takes continuous effort over months or years to accrue credible sources and voices one can grok. The results may still yield crap, but at least it's vetted crap. (Present company excepted)
As I seek to make sense of the world outside my little bubble of miraculously quotidian normalcy, I turn to these sites for current events and analysis:(partial list in no particular order, and w/ plenty dross in some cases)
1) Citizen Free Press
2) Instapundit daily open thread
3) Zerohedge (the too frequent antisemitism in the comments grates)
4) Real Clear Politics (usually just a headline browse, but the occasional good link)
5) Revolver Newsfeed (meh)
6) Epoch Times
7) Space Weather News or similar (heads up for solar flares and CMEs)
8) MavPhil/Motus Mentis/Kuntsler and similar. We all know the regular suspects.
I have another list (w/ some overlap) for deeper thoughts from which I drink deeply, but this post is a plea for others who read here to inform me, and to suggest their preferred sources for access to current and anticipatory info about the coming flood, how to avoid lies, bullshit and trickery, and have good influential truth to share with others.
Thank you, cybernauts! Long live liberty, dammit!

I perused the VDARE site for the first time, a few minutes ago.
Gads!

mharko,

Joe links to the video. Scroll up.

Too busy to add much, but FrontPage Mag is a good candidate for your list.

A perfect storm is brewing and humanity, I fear, is deep in its endgame.

The kind of action that needs to be taken requires more civil courage than most of us possess.

I can recommend John Derbyshire's weekly Radio Derb podcast, which is hosted at VDare.

I've liked David Horowitz since reading Destructive Generation many years ago (in the 90's). I remember those days(the 60's)well enough. Civil disobedience was cool then. At least we care less about being cool now.
Few enough people indeed are the civil activists we might be. But quinch not the smoking wick.
Vdare looks relevant. I will read. I used to read a Pundita blog that linked a lot to Derbyshire. Can't find it anymore.
"You always got to be prepared but you never know for what" sang the Jokerman. But it's not too hard to imagine a few possibilities, and not a few schemes are already afoot under our noses, some have become obvious, some still under the radar. Some beyond all human control. Local and non-local lines are blurring too, so local actions can have non-local impact and visa versa.
As the video shows, the homebrewed children of this regressive culture are like oxygen-free radicals that wreck havoc in every encounter.

Mr. mharko asks for some further sources and I will post some below, with comments.

But first, I think it is important to remember that is is easy to think that things are worse than they really are; evil is loud, it shouts, and it puffs itself up like a scared cat trying to appear larger than it really is. But in reality, evil is weak.

Here are some sources that I find useful and encouraging:

Urban Conservatives of America: https://uca.us.org/

Remember the wonderful church-going Blacks of the Civil Rights era? They are still here! The UCA people will show you that. And the Blacks who understand that we humans need the Gospel: they really, really understand that need, in ways that the average white person does not.

2. Rabbi Simon Jacobson: https://www.meaningfullife.com/

Rabbi Jacobson often really nails it in his youtube videos, and he does comment on current events.

3. The Yale Gospel Choir: https://www.meaningfullife.com/

Yes that Yale. It’s apparently not all woke there. Here are two videos, blacks and whites together in both of them. Enjoy.

and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMzl65pXZLY

4. And, from the Southern California where I grew up, the Los Ryderz bike club:

https://www.facebook.com/LosRyderzBikeClub/

This is a facebook page, but don’t discount facebook. I found out about “UCA” via facebook, and I am friends with some of the UCA people on facebook. And check out some of the Los Ryderz videos on their FB page.

Anyway, I don’t think we need to be discouraged. Good night from Catacomb Joe. Tomorrow is another day.

OOPS, I put down Rabbi Jacobson's web address twice, and I didn't put down the web address of the Yale Gospel Choir, so here it is:

Happy Saturday !

Read, listen and watch using the What was excluded approach.
Supplement that with the Grey Lady Rule, where you look for the buried lede about 8-10 paragraphs in.

Keep asking yourself why would the media do that?

Be an informed media consumer, not a sheep.

>>Supplement that with the Grey Lady Rule, where you look for the buried lede about 8-10 paragraphs in.<<

Right. Don't bury the lede! https://style.mla.org/dont-bury-the-lede/

mharko,

I thought you were a young guy! Two necessary conditions of remembering the '60s: having lived through those times as an adolescent or adult, and having been judicious in one's ingestion of mind-altering substances.

Destructive Generation (with Peter Collier) is very good, but also very good is Horowitz's LEFT ILLUSIONS.

Leftists are successor commies. To understand the Left study communism. Whittakr Chambers' WITNESS is historically important and of high literary value. Here are couple second-tier books:

Bella V. Dodd, *School of Darkness* (New York: P. J. Kennedy, 1954) Bella Dodd’s idealism swept her up into the Communist Party, as did Whittaker Chambers' and and the idealism of so many of the best and brightest of their generation. But after wasting years of her life in the CPUSA, it spit her out. Disillusioned, she turned to Catholicism, taking instruction from none other than Bishop Fulton J. Sheen in New York City. She had come to the conclusion that the brotherhood of man is possible only under the fatherhood of God.

Ron Radosh, *Commies: A Journey Through the Old Left, the New Left, and the Leftover Left,* Encounter, 2001. There are some juicy revelations about Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary, on pp. 39-40. But I am too lazy to type them up.

I was born in San Antonio in 1951 (I hear Paul Butterfield in the background singing "I was born in Chicago in 1941
Well, my father told me "Son, you had better get a gun"")
So I was an adolescent and teen through the 60's. Mind-altering substances were plentiful in my crowd, and I partook, but moderately. So, still some memory. Arrived in L.A., California in '69. Norcal resident now, like Joe.
Leftism is a pneumopathology as far as I'm concerned, and I always remember Dylan's line from Open the Door, Homer: "Remember when you're out there trying to heal the sick, that you must always first forgive them." Still working on that one. Helps having forgiven myself first.
Thanks for great suggestions, Joe, BV, Malcolm and DaveB. I will peruse all.
Now, what has been excluded...? I like that. I can't stomach the NYT, so I never get as far as the lede.
I didn't mean to hijack the thread, maybe I did but thanks for not pointing it out, and I misspelled 'quench'.
Race is real, and Vito's post shows they know it too. But if I remember my jrCollege logic, it's neither a sufficient nor necessary condition for criminal behavior. Same for the absence of nine consecutive meals --> anarchy. Pattern recognition is relevant. No NBA team has a DEI director. The challenge is integrating relevant facts with moral or ethical policies and conclusions that comport with reality.

Kaylee Gain, the girl whose head was bashed, did not die & is doing better, thank God.
