An egregious example of present-directed gaslighting of the American people by the regime and the regime media is their dismissal of the numerous videos depicting Joe Biden's physical decrepitude as 'cheap/deep fakes.'
What then are we to call the lie being currently spread by the regime and its shills that Kamala Harris was never the 'border czar'? I call it past-directed gaslighting. This form of gaslighting is promoted by 'scrubbing' the historical record, a tried-and-true totalitarian tactic. Totalitarians want total control, and thus they want control over the past. They cannot erase the past, which is what it was, no matter what anyone says or writes. But they can bury the past in oblivion by altering the historical record. The burial in oblivion, the destruction of collective memory, suffices for their nefarious purposes.
Now the meaning of Christopher Wray's ludicrous 'shrapnel speculation' falls into place. Its purpose was to prepare the way for a future denial that the Trump assassination attempt ever happened.
How do I know that? Well, I don't know that, but what I do know about these deep-staters makes my speculation reasonable. Or do you have a better explanation for Wray's remark?
I would explain Wray's remark as a giveaway that the FBI was in on the whole thing. It didn't work, and Wray's remark is a slip showing that now he wishes they hadn't tried it, because he knows that if the Truth comes out (on earth) he will have to pay severely. I put nothing past those people, and I always think the worst of them, and their actions, and their motivations, at this point.

In addition to “shrapnel,” Wray made another odd comment.
Rep Dan Bishop: "Did Crooks fire eight shots?"
FBI Director Wray: "We have recovered eight cartridges on the roof.”
He should have said eight “casings” or “cartridge casings” or even “spent cartridges.”

Joe,
The FBI, the DOJ, the SS (Secret Service, with an allusion to the Nazi SS = Schutzstaffel) and other regime agencies have only themselves to blame for your harsh judgment which, even if it is an exaggeration, is headed in the right direction.
Has there ever been a more extreme and Kristalklar example of gaslighting than the video example I mentioned?
The bastards know that we know that they are gaslighting us, but they have the chutzpah to try to get away with it.

James,
Exactly right. How could the FBI director not know that simple distinction? Was he a DEI hire as well?
Another common mistake routinely made by 'liberals' is to confuse the bullet (the projectile) with the cartridge. Simplifying a bit, the cartridge = the bullet + the powder (propellant) + the primer + the casing.
The 'liberal' at this point will scream that I am 'gunsplaining' a coinage suggested by 'mansplaining.'
To hell with them all.
Things are heating up by the hour thanks to the imbecilic Harris who, politically/ideologically, is worse even than Biden.
They will cheat for sure come November, and they may even win. What do we do then? Use their tactics against them? Lawfare, etc.?

I find it amusing that the Left always says "gun," which only applies to smoothbores, and not to anything with rifling. They should say "firearm control." But that is too complicated for them.

Joe,
Here I have to disagree. Every rifle is a gun, but not every gun is a rifle. What makes you think that 'gun' applies only to smooth bores? The AR-15 rifle, for example, is often referred to as a long gun. See here: https://www.smith-wesson.com/products/rifles
Of course, not every long gun is a rifle. Shotguns are long guns but they lack rifling.
Furthermore, almost all handguns have rifling, and no one refers to them as rifles. https://www.quora.com/Why-arent-the-barrels-of-pistols-rifled
Finally, not every shotgun lacks rifling. The Smith and Wesson Governor has rifling but it also fires, in addition to the .45 ACP and .45 'Cowboy' Colt. .410 shotgun shells and slugs. So the Governor is a shotgun with rifling! Visit me and you can shoot mine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_&_Wesson_Governor

The FBI has since officially clarified Wray's "shrapnel" comment, that the bullet indeed hit Trump. However, that does not change the appalling nature of Wray's testimony.
He was not, as Bill speculates, attempting to support a later claim that the assassination did not happen. Instead, Wray sought to aid the Left in mitigating Trump's political gain from being shot in an assassination attempt. Based on Wray's "official comment," the Left could then claim that it is MAGA misinformation that Trump was shot because Trump was not shot and hit by a bullet, but only by shrapnel. I know; you say, "Huh? But being hit by shrapnel from an assassin's bullet and being hit by the bullet is a distinction without a difference. In either case, Trump was shot in an attempted assassination that fortunately failed."
But that's not how the Left and its minions and drones think. They consider a "shrapnel, not a bullet" argument to be rock-solid and a complete dunk on the Right. And that the Director of the FBI, a supposed grown-up in a critically important institution, would go along with this juvenile, lame Leftist argument, is just another indication of the total rot and corruption at the heart of the FBI.
