Dmitri Hvorostovsky, 1962-2017. "Cranes." With subtitles. Try not to cry. World Peace through music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bz5nzblk8Ws

Love that you included J.J. Walker. Had the great good fortune to see him live many a year ago. He's done some amazing work over the years, over-shadowed (wrongfully, in my minority view) by his good friend Jimmy Buffet. I'll take "L.A. Freeway" over "Margaritaville" any day. And "Up Against the Wall Redneck Mothers" as well as "Gettin' By" on even a sober Sunday. A character, a fine musician, and an apparently good down to Earth fellow.

Kate Wolf (1942-1986). "Shadow of a life." This song mentions the Superstition Mountains, in fact.

Thanks for that, Joe. I wasn't aware of it. As I write this I can see Superstition peak from my study window. I wonder if she is referring to the Mogollon rim. Pronouced in these parts as Muggy-Yon rim.
